Chris August is an American Christian singer-songwriter and musician. He is best known for his hit single "Starry Night" which peaked at No. 1 on the Billboard Christian Songs chart in 2010. August released his debut album, No Far Away, in 2010, which was certified Gold by the RIAA. He has released four additional studio albums, including The Maker (2012), The Upside of Down (2014), and his most recent, The Maker Acoustic (2016). August was born in Garland, Texas, and grew up in a musical family. He began playing the piano at the age of five and was soon writing his own songs. He attended Liberty University in Lynchburg, Virginia, where he studied music and business. August has been married to his wife, Sarah, since 2008. They have two children, a daughter named Emma and a son named Noah. August has won several awards, including a Dove Award for New Artist of the Year in 2011 and a K-LOVE Fan Award for Male Artist of the Year in 2012. He has also been nominated for several Grammy Awards.
