Claude Taylor (transportation executive) was a Canadian transportation executive who served as the president and CEO of Canadian Pacific Railway from 1981 to 1991. He was born in Salisbury, New Brunswick, and attended the University of New Brunswick, where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in engineering. Taylor began his career in the transportation industry in 1948, when he joined Canadian Pacific Railway as a junior engineer. He rose through the ranks, eventually becoming the company's president and CEO in 1981. During his tenure, he oversaw the company's expansion into the United States and the acquisition of several other transportation companies. Taylor retired from Canadian Pacific Railway in 1991 and was inducted into the Canadian Railway Hall of Fame in 1992. He was also a recipient of the Order of Canada. He passed away in 2020 at the age of 95.
