Clímaco Jacinto Zarauz Carrillo was a Spanish politician and lawyer who served as the mayor of the city of Zaragoza from 1979 to 1983. He was born in Oman, a small town in the province of Zaragoza, Spain. He studied law at the University of Zaragoza and was a member of the Spanish Socialist Workers' Party (PSOE). In 1979, he was elected mayor of Zaragoza, a position he held until 1983. During his tenure, he was responsible for the construction of the Zaragoza-Delicias high-speed railway line, the expansion of the city's airport, and the creation of the Zaragoza-Delicias University. He also worked to improve the city's infrastructure and public services. In addition to his political career, Clímaco Jacinto Zarauz Carrillo was also a successful lawyer. He was a founding partner of the law firm Zarauz, Carrillo & Associates, which specialized in civil and commercial law. He was also a member of the Spanish Bar Association and the Aragonese Bar Association. Clímaco Jacinto Zarauz Carrillo passed away on April 8, 2017, at the age of 91. He was survived by his wife, two sons, and four grandchildren.
