Danny Pudi is an American actor and comedian best known for his role as Abed Nadir on the NBC comedy series Community. He was born on March 10, 1979 in Chicago, Illinois. He attended Marquette University, where he earned a degree in Communication and Theatre Arts.
Pudi began his career in comedy, performing stand-up and improv in Chicago. He made his television debut in 2006, appearing in an episode of the NBC drama series ER. He went on to appear in a number of television shows, including Greek, The West Wing, and Psych.
In 2009, Pudi was cast as Abed Nadir in the NBC comedy series Community. He received critical acclaim for his performance, and the show was a cult hit. He appeared in all six seasons of the show, and won a Critics' Choice Television Award for Best Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series in 2011.

In the autumn of 2014, Pudi appeared in the Off-Broadway musical FOUND. In February 2017, Pudi began his role as Teddy on the NBC sitcom Powerless.

His parents immigrated to the U.S. and became naturalized citizens: his mother came from the Polish village of Pokośno, while his father came from the Indian village of Poduru and was of Telugu Christian descent. Pudi grew up speaking Polish with his mother and grandmother. He grew up on the South Side of Chicago with brother Adam and sister Katherine but attended Notre Dame College Prep in nearby Niles. In 2013, he gave the commencement address at Notre Dame College Prep.
