He is best known for his work on the Christian films Flywheel (2003), Facing the Giants (2006), Fireproof (2008), and Courageous (2011). Christiano was born on October 2, 1956 in Waterloo, New York. He attended the University of Rochester, where he earned a degree in film and television production. Christiano began his career in the film industry in the late 1980s, working as a production assistant on various television shows. He then moved into directing, producing, and writing for television, working on shows such as The New Adventures of Old Christine and The Drew Carey Show. In 2003, Christiano made his feature film debut with Flywheel, a Christian drama about a dishonest used car salesman who finds redemption. The film was a success, and Christiano followed it up with the 2006 hit Facing the Giants, a faith-based sports drama about a high school football coach. In 2008, Christiano released Fireproof, a drama about a firefighter who is struggling to save his marriage. The film was a major success, grossing over $33 million at the box office. Christiano followed it up with the 2011 hit Courageous, a drama about four police officers who make a commitment to become better fathers. Christiano is currently working on his next film, The Least of These, which is set to be released in 2019. He is also the founder of Christiano Films, a production company that produces faith-based films.
