David Berglas is a British magician and mentalist who has been performing for over 70 years. He is best known for his signature trick, the Berglas Effect, which involves a spectator randomly selecting a card from a deck and then being able to identify it without any assistance. He has also been a regular performer on British television, appearing on shows such as The Paul Daniels Magic Show and The David Berglas Show. Berglas was born in London in 1926 and began performing magic at the age of 12. He studied at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art and then went on to perform in variety shows and cabaret. He has also been a regular performer at the Magic Circle in London. Berglas has been awarded the Order of the British Empire for his services to magic and entertainment. He is also a member of the Inner Magic Circle with Gold Star, the highest honour that can be bestowed upon a magician. Berglas is now 95 years old and is still performing magic. He is married to his wife, Anne, and they have two children. He is also a keen collector of antique magic props and books.
