Presently, billionaire Dennis Washington owns part of the island, with a golf course and private landing strip as of 2007. Following college, David enlisted with the United States Navy as a deck seaman, something he wanted to experience first hand. During his early years, he was a trouble maker, always finding ways to gain attention through his amateur stunts, which started in snow skiing 90 miles per hour down the slopes. He has been involved with many sports which included football, baseball, judo, tennis, water skiing, scuba diving, motorcyclist, archery, firearms, hiking and billiards. During his high school years, he started to compete in amateur wrestling, eventually becoming a 2X Runner Up State Champion in Freestyle. He was coached at camp by legendary 2X Olympic Gold Medalist John Smith and Olympic Gold Medalist Kenny Monday from Oklahoma State University. He also attended Iowa J. Robinson Intensified Wrestling Camp.

Auditioned for the television show Deal or No Deal (2005). While waiting 22 hours in line and pumping out approximately 800 push up and did not eat or drink anything. One last thing, he did not even sit down but pace back and forth.

Has personally met President George W. Bush during his 2004 visit to Arizona.

Applied to Harvard and Yale Law School, turned down by both in 2003.

Served in the US Navy as a Deck Seaman. During his time in the service, he PNA the Quartermaster Exam and was monitored in boot camp by Navy Seals, while completing his second class swim qualifications, pursuant to US Navy regulations. Served on combat war ship USS Simpson (FFG-56), Fast Frigate Guidance out of Norfolk, Virgina. The vessel that Seaman Silver was attached to is considered by military historians to be the second frigate in over 200 years of Naval History to engage the enemy, the first being the USS Constitution. His command was assigned to enforce the famous Dayton Peace Accord, signed in November of 1995 by numerous Balkan Country leaders and United States President Bill Clinton. During the tour, the crew sailed through the dangerous waters of the Atlantic Ocean, Adriatic and Mediterranean Sea, just off the coast of (former Yugoslavia) and Italy, in conjunction with United Nation sanctions.Seaman Silver was awarded numerous campaign medals and citations for his tour of duty in Bosnia and (Former Yugoslavia), in support of the Dayton Peace Accord.

In 1992, he directed and produced a film during his senior year in college. David had a cameo role during the filming of "Boy Meets Girl", where he played a park patron. He had a few words of dialogue.

In 1990, he did college assignments on numerous films. He wrote his analysis on Goodfellas (1990), Henry & June (1990) and Mr. Destiny (1990).

One daughter Ashley Elizabeth, born November 30, 1989. She is of Caucasion, Spanish and Mexican ethnicity. Coming into her senior year at Xavier College Prepatory High School. Presently, Ivy League Yale University is very interested in her for college.

Wrestled Canadian 1988 Olympian and 1989 World Silver Medalists Gary Bohay in 1991.

On February 2, 1986 he received his Certificate of Admission to Arizona State University with curriculum Pre General Business Admin. He changed it to Organization Communication his sophomore year.

An expert Snow Skier that can navigate any black or double black diamond run, including cliffs. Skied New Zealand Porter Heights in 1985.

During 1982, his school peers predicted in the future he will become middle linebacker for the Dallas Cowboys. He was voted best dressed his 8th grade year.

Favorite actor is Jack Nicholson for his performance in The Shining (1980) .

During 1979-1980, he was Cherokee Elementary Boxing Champ beating Joseph Reid for the Championship.

In the early 1970s, the family moved to Paradise Valley, Arizona. The area was considered the Beverly Hills of Phoenix. He attended his entire schooling in Arizona. At age 12, David went off to work on Stuart Island, just off the coast of Campbell River, British Columbia. During one evening, the crew came into bad weather and was almost capsized in the whirlpools. This experience taught the young Silver Kid that life can be taken very easily.
