Lanre served as an international partner, and later a senator for Nigeria with the World Business Angels Investment Forum (WBAF), Turkey. And has helped the growth of over 250 businesses and startups in Nigeria. But he is more active at his company, FirstFounders Inc, which he founded in 2020. In March 2022, in partnership with CrossFund, FirstFounders assisted a FinTech company - Syarpa to close a successful seed round of $500,000.
In 2008, he won the LEAP Africa Nokia Top 10 Youth Leadership Award and went on to make other impressive achievements including being selected as a pioneer global shaper of the World Economic Forum for which he later became the community’s curator in Lagos. In 2007, he founded Green Yaggy, an initiative that helped grassroots youths in Nigeria to get entrepreneurship skills. The initiative directly impacted the lives of over 250 youths, a feat that earned him a spot at the African Business Leaders Forum (ABLF) 101 Young African Leaders 2007.

Messan was born in Isolo, Lagos State on 4 March 1983 to Addi Anthony Messan (father) and Janet Glohoun (mother) who were both of Nigerian and Togolese ancestry. He started his educational journey at Mushin High School where he obtained his secondary school certificate(SSCE) and then proceeded to Lagos State Polytechnic to study Mass Communication. He read Entrepreneurship and Innovation at Scalabl Global Academy and Disruptive Strategy from Harvard Business School and has a diploma in Marketing Strategy from Nexford University.
