Timeline

2010

In August 2010, Ogilby joined Coleraine for an undisclosed fee. He made his debut a few days later against Lisburn Distillery and then scored his first goals for the club in a 4-0 win over Donegal Celtic. 8 season later and David is still playing for The Bannsiders! After taking a while to find himself in the starting XI, OG found his form and started for Coleraine F.C. in their final of the Tennants Irish Cup in which they lost 3-0 to Linfield F.C. Having started again at the start of the season, he had a new defensive partner in Stephen O'Donnell, but having started every game up to November, he was dropped after Coleraine lost their first game of the season against Linfield, he was dropped. But OG is stop a very important player for the club!

2008

After playing only two games for Lisahally, Burns sent Ogilby on trial to Institute F.C. Ogilby has also represented Northern Ireland at under 23 level and has played for the Northern Ireland B team. Manager Liam Beckett as singled out Ogilby and his fellow defender, Mark Scoltock as the best defenders in the Irish Football Association. Institute fans have labelled Ogilby as "Institute's most committed player". On 30 January 2008, Derry City expressed keen interest, with hope of landing the promising Northern Ireland Under 23 star before the end of the British Transfer Window. Liam Beckett, while allowing Ogilby to discuss terms with Stephen Kenny and Derry City, was hesitant and wished to see the player remain at the Riverside. The transfer, however, did not go through in time, as negotiations broke down before the transfer window closed (at midnight, 31 January). Sources in the media have reported that the breakdown was largely due to the reluctance of the Institute board to let the player go. It is thought that Ogilby was valued at £15,000, a fee which Derry City may have considered too high. At the end of the season, on 20 June, reports surfaced that Ogilby had been attracting interest from Conference National side, Wrexham. The defender has been offered a two-week trial with the Welsh club, where he claims to be "in the shop window".
