David Thomas (field hockey) is a former Welsh field hockey player who represented Wales in the 1948 Summer Olympics. He was born on 27 June, 1927 in Pontypridd, Wales. Thomas began playing field hockey at the age of 16 and went on to represent Wales in the 1948 Summer Olympics in London. He was part of the Welsh team that finished in fourth place in the tournament. Thomas continued to play field hockey for the rest of his life, representing Wales in the 1950 British Empire Games and the 1954 World Cup. He also played for the Welsh national team in the 1958 European Championships. Thomas retired from field hockey in the late 1960s and went on to become a successful businessman. He is now 96 years old and lives in Pontypridd, Wales.
