Debbie Horsfield is a British writer and producer. She is best known for creating the BBC drama series Cutting It and the BBC One drama series Poldark. She has also written for the BBC series Casualty, EastEnders, and The Bill. Horsfield was born in Eccles, Greater Manchester, England in 1955. She studied English at the University of Manchester and then went on to study drama at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art. Horsfield began her career as a scriptwriter for the BBC series Casualty in 1989. She then went on to write for the BBC series EastEnders and The Bill. In 2002, she created the BBC drama series Cutting It, which ran for three series. In 2015, she created the BBC One drama series Poldark, which is based on the novels by Winston Graham.
