Dereje Nedi is a former Ethiopian long-distance runner who competed in the marathon and 10,000 metres events. He was born on 13 January 1954 in Ethiopia. Nedi won the silver medal in the 10,000 metres at the 1978 All-Africa Games in Algiers, Algeria. He also won the bronze medal in the marathon at the 1979 All-Africa Games in Lagos, Nigeria. Nedi competed in the marathon at the 1980 Summer Olympics in Moscow, Soviet Union, but did not finish the race. He also competed in the marathon at the 1984 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles, United States, but again did not finish the race. Nedi's personal best time in the marathon was 2:12:45, which he achieved in 1979. He also had a personal best time of 28:17.2 in the 10,000 metres, which he achieved in 1978.
