Hoblitzel was best known for his roles in the films The Big Sleep (1946), The Big Clock (1948), and The Man Who Knew Too Much (1956). He also appeared in the television series The Adventures of Ozzie and Harriet, The Donna Reed Show, and The Rifleman. Hoblitzel was married to actress Mary Gordon from 1932 until his death in 1965. He had no children. Hoblitzel's net worth at the time of his death is unknown.
