Dimitar Bobchev is a Bulgarian cyclist who was born on 20 September, 1926. He is best known for his achievements in the Tour de France, where he won the yellow jersey in 1954. He also won the Tour of Bulgaria in 1951 and 1952. Bobchev began his cycling career in 1945, when he joined the Bulgarian National Cycling Team. He quickly rose to prominence, winning the Tour of Bulgaria in 1951 and 1952. He also competed in the 1952 Summer Olympics in Helsinki, Finland, where he finished in fourth place in the individual road race. In 1954, Bobchev won the Tour de France, becoming the first Bulgarian to do so. He also won the yellow jersey, which is awarded to the rider with the lowest cumulative time. He also won the Tour of Bulgaria in 1955 and 1956. Bobchev retired from professional cycling in 1959. He later became a coach and was the head coach of the Bulgarian National Cycling Team from 1965 to 1975. Bobchev is 89 years old and has a net worth of $1 million.
