He began playing guitar at the age of 12 and soon joined a local band. In 1984, he joined the Brazilian rock band Titãs, which he remained a member of until 1997. During his time with the band, he released several solo albums and acted in several films. In 1997, Dinho Ouro Preto left Titãs and began a solo career. He released his first solo album, "Dinho Ouro Preto", in 1998. Since then, he has released several other solo albums, including "Ao Vivo" (2000), "Ao Vivo 2" (2002), and "Ao Vivo 3" (2005). He has also acted in several films, including "O Auto da Compadecida" (2000) and "O Homem do Ano" (2003). Dinho Ouro Preto has won several awards for his work, including the Latin Grammy Award for Best Rock Album in 2002. He is currently working on his next solo album, which is expected to be released in 2021.
