Doane Perry is an American drummer and percussionist best known for his work with the progressive rock band Jethro Tull. He joined the band in 1984 and has been a member ever since. Perry was born in Mount Kisco, New York, and began playing drums at the age of nine. He studied at the Berklee College of Music in Boston, Massachusetts, and later moved to Los Angeles, California, where he worked as a session musician. He has performed with a variety of artists, including John McLaughlin, Stanley Clarke, and Chick Corea. In 1984, Perry joined Jethro Tull, replacing original drummer Barriemore Barlow. He has since performed on all of the band's albums and tours, and has also released several solo albums. Perry is married to singer and songwriter Toni Childs, and the couple have two children. He is 66 years old.
