Dom Salvador is a Brazilian composer, arranger, and pianist. He is best known for his work in the genres of jazz, samba, and bossa nova. He has released over 20 albums and has collaborated with many of Brazil's most renowned musicians. He has also composed music for films, television, and theater. Born in Rio Claro, São Paulo, Salvador began playing the piano at the age of seven. He studied classical music at the Conservatório Dramático e Musical de São Paulo and later studied jazz at the Berklee College of Music in Boston. Salvador has released over 20 albums, including his debut album, Dom Salvador (1970), and his most recent album, Dom Salvador & Abolição (2018). He has collaborated with many of Brazil's most renowned musicians, including Hermeto Pascoal, Elis Regina, and Milton Nascimento. He has also composed music for films, television, and theater. Salvador has received numerous awards and honors, including the Prêmio Sharp de Música Instrumental (2005) and the Prêmio APCA de Música Instrumental (2006). He was also inducted into the Latin Grammy Hall of Fame in 2018.
