Dorothy Crawford was an Australian producer, writer, and script department. She was born in Fitzroy, Victoria, Australia on 23 March 1911. She was best known for her work on the television series Homicide, which she produced from 1964 to 1972. Crawford began her career in the film industry in the 1940s, working as a script supervisor and assistant director. She worked on a number of films, including The Overlanders (1946), The Phantom Stockman (1953), and The Shiralee (1957). In 1964, Crawford was hired as a producer for the television series Homicide. She worked on the show for eight years, producing over 200 episodes. She was also responsible for introducing the show's iconic theme song, "The Homicide Theme". Crawford retired from the film industry in 1972. She passed away in Melbourne, Australia on 28 August, 2002 at the age of 91.
