A specialist at scripting westerns and films involving animals (Ranger the Dog, Rin-Tin-Tin, Thunderhead etc.), she also turned out a number of memorable comedies, ( Alice Adams (1935) comes to mind) and worked on four of the Astaire-Rogers musicals beginning with The Gay Divorcee (1934).
