Doug Greenall is a former English football coach who was born on 7 June, 1927 in St Helens, Lancashire, England. He is best known for his time as a coach at Manchester United, where he worked from 1964 to 1969.
Greenall began his career as a player with St Helens Town, before moving to Manchester United in 1950. He made one appearance for the club, in a 3-2 win over Tottenham Hotspur in the FA Cup in 1951.
Greenall then moved into coaching, and was appointed as Manchester United's youth team coach in 1964. He was responsible for bringing through a number of young players, including George Best, Brian Kidd and Nobby Stiles.
Greenall left Manchester United in 1969, and went on to coach at a number of other clubs, including Bolton Wanderers, Wigan Athletic and Preston North End. He also had a spell as manager of Southport in the early 1970s.
Greenall retired from coaching in the late 1970s, and now lives in St Helens. He is 80 years old.
