Doug Soetaert is a Canadian former professional ice hockey goaltender who played in the National Hockey League (NHL) for the Chicago Blackhawks, New York Rangers, and Winnipeg Jets. He was born on April 21, 1955 in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. Soetaert played junior hockey with the Edmonton Oil Kings of the Western Canada Hockey League (WCHL) from 1972 to 1975. He was drafted by the Chicago Blackhawks in the 1975 NHL Amateur Draft, and made his NHL debut with the team during the 1975–76 season. He played in Chicago for four seasons before being traded to the New York Rangers in 1979. He played in New York for two seasons before being traded to the Winnipeg Jets in 1981. He played in Winnipeg for four seasons before retiring in 1985. Soetaert was a two-time NHL All-Star, and was named to the NHL Second All-Star Team in 1982. He was also a member of the Canadian national team at the 1981 Canada Cup. Soetaert is currently the goaltending coach for the Edmonton Oilers of the NHL. He is also the goaltending coach for the Canadian national team. As of 2021, Doug Soetaert's net worth is estimated to be around $2 million.
