Edvin Vesterby is a 96-year-old Estonian wrestler who was born on 23 October, 1927 in Riguldi, Estonia. He is a two-time Olympic medalist, having won a silver medal in the 1952 Summer Olympics in Helsinki and a bronze medal in the 1956 Summer Olympics in Melbourne. He also won a gold medal at the 1954 European Championships in Bern, Switzerland. Vesterby began his wrestling career in 1945 and competed in the Greco-Roman style. He was a member of the Estonian national team from 1952 to 1956 and was the Estonian national champion in 1952, 1954, and 1956. Vesterby retired from competitive wrestling in 1956 and went on to become a wrestling coach. He coached the Estonian national team from 1957 to 1965 and was the head coach of the Estonian national team from 1965 to 1975. Vesterby is married and has two children. He currently resides in Tallinn, Estonia.
