Edwin Seroussi is an Israeli musicologist, ethnomusicologist, and professor of music at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. He is the founder and director of the Jewish Music Research Centre at the university. Born on December 26, 1952, in Buenos Aires, Argentina, Edwin Seroussi is 68 years old as of 2021. He is also the editor-in-chief of the Jewish Music Research Centre's journal, Musica Judaica. He has published numerous books and articles on Jewish music, including Jewish Musical Traditions (1995), Music in Jewish History and Culture (1999), and Music in the Jewish Community of Palestine 1880-1948 (2003). Seroussi has received numerous awards and honors for his work, including the Israel Prize in Musicology in 2004, the EMET Prize in the Arts in 2006, and the Wolf Prize in Arts in 2011.
