Edwin Soto Santiago is a Puerto Rican politician who has served in the Puerto Rican House of Representatives since 2009. He is a member of the New Progressive Party and represents the District of Las Marías. Soto Santiago was born on May 13, 1954 in Las Marías, Puerto Rico. He attended the University of Puerto Rico, where he earned a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration. He also attended the Interamerican University of Puerto Rico, where he earned a Master's degree in Public Administration. Soto Santiago began his political career in the Puerto Rican House of Representatives in 2009. He has served as the Vice President of the House of Representatives since 2013. He has also served as the President of the Commission of Government and the Commission of Education, among other positions. Soto Santiago is married to María del Carmen Soto and has two children. He is a member of the New Progressive Party and is a strong advocate for Puerto Rican statehood.
