She is best known for producing the classic French films La Grande Illusion (1937) and Les Enfants du Paradis (1945). Victor was born in Paris on 21 October 1918. She began her career as a scriptwriter in the 1940s, working on films such as La Grande Illusion and Les Enfants du Paradis. She then moved into producing, working on films such as La Ronde (1950) and La Chambre des Dames (1952). In the 1960s, Victor moved into television, producing a number of series for French television. She also wrote several books, including a biography of French actress Arletty. Victor has been honored with a number of awards, including the Legion of Honor in 2002. She is also a member of the Académie des Beaux-Arts.
