Elitsa Todorova is a Bulgarian singer and percussionist who rose to fame after representing Bulgaria in the Eurovision Song Contest 2007. She was born on 2 September 1977 in Sofia, Bulgaria. Todorova began her musical career in the early 2000s, performing with the Bulgarian folk-pop group Bon-Bon. She then went on to form the duo Elitsa & Stoyan with her partner Stoyan Yankoulov. The duo represented Bulgaria in the Eurovision Song Contest 2007 with the song "Water" and placed fifth. Todorova has since released several solo albums, including "The Voice of Bulgaria" (2009), "The Voice of Bulgaria 2" (2010), and "The Voice of Bulgaria 3" (2012). She has also collaborated with various artists, including the Bulgarian singer-songwriter Slavi Trifonov. Todorova has won numerous awards, including the Golden Orpheus Award for Best Female Singer in 2009 and the Golden Orpheus Award for Best Female Singer in 2012. 2007

On 25 February 2007, Elitsa & Stoyans song "Water" won the Bulgarian National Television's public contest and was selected as the song to represent Bulgaria in Eurovision Song Contest 2007. The song advanced from the semi-final to become Bulgaria's first ever participation in a final. In the final Elitsa and Stoyan finished in 5th place.

In 2003 Elitsa Todorova began working with Bulgaria's most popular and renowned drummer and percussionist Stoyan Yankoulov.

2000

Together with 2000 Bulgarians in folk costumes, she presented the Bulgarian culture at the World Cultural Music Festival at the Olympic Stadium in Berlin in 2011. In her performance she also presented the unique drum patented under her name – "Cosmic Tree from Bulgaria".
