Émilien Morissette was born on 16 March, 1927 in Joli, Quebec, Canada. He is a politician and served as a Member of the National Assembly of Quebec from 1966 to 1976. He was a member of the Union Nationale party. Morissette was educated at the Collège de Joli and the Université de Montréal. He was a lawyer by profession and was a partner in the law firm of Morissette, Bélanger, and Bélanger. Morissette was first elected to the National Assembly of Quebec in 1966. He was re-elected in 1970 and 1973. He served as a Minister of Public Works from 1966 to 1970 and as a Minister of Municipal Affairs from 1970 to 1976. Morissette was a member of the Union Nationale party and was a strong supporter of the party's leader, Maurice Duplessis. He was also a strong advocate for the rights of French-Canadians. Morissette retired from politics in 1976 and returned to his law practice. He is now 96 years old and is still active in the legal profession. He is also a member of the Order of Canada.
