Ernest Ashworth is an American country music singer and songwriter. He is best known for his 1960 hit "Talk Back Trembling Lips". Ernest Ashworth was born on December 15, 1928 in Huntsville, Alabama. He began his music career in the 1950s, performing on local radio stations. In 1959, he signed with Hickory Records and released his debut single, "Each Moment". The song became a hit, reaching number five on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart. In 1960, Ashworth released his biggest hit, "Talk Back Trembling Lips". The song reached number one on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart and was later covered by Johnny Tillotson. Ashworth continued to release singles throughout the 1960s, but none of them achieved the same success as "Talk Back Trembling Lips". In the 1970s, Ashworth moved to Nashville, Tennessee and began writing songs for other artists. He wrote songs for artists such as George Jones, Tammy Wynette, and Conway Twitty. He also released several albums throughout the decade, but none of them achieved the same success as his earlier releases. Ernest Ashworth is now retired from the music industry.
