She was the daughter of Japanese immigrants, and she was raised in a traditional Japanese household. Estelle attended the University of California, Berkeley, where she studied art and literature. After graduating, she moved to Los Angeles and began working as a freelance illustrator. She also wrote several books, including "The Life of a Japanese Immigrant" and "The Japanese in America". Estelle was married to fellow artist Arthur Ishigo, and the couple had two children. Estelle and Arthur moved to Hawaii in the 1940s, where they lived until their deaths in the 1970s. Estelle Peck Ishigo was a prolific artist and writer, and her work has been featured in numerous exhibitions and publications. She was also a passionate advocate for Japanese-American rights, and she was a founding member of the Japanese American Citizens League.
