She is survived by her daughter. Jean Zeisel (born in 1940), and son, John Zeisel (born in 1944).

1936

On May 28, 1936, she was arrested, falsely accused by a collegiate of conspiring to assassinate Stalin. She was imprisoned for 16 months, mostly in solitary confinement. An experience that Arthur Koestler, a childhood friend, inspired his novel, "Darkness at Noon," in 1941. She was released in 1937 and traveled to Vienna, Austria. She left Vienna, Austria on March 12, 1938 when the Nazis entered Austria. She reunited with Hans Zeisel, a lawyer and sociologist, who she met in Berlin, Germany. They were married in 1938 and immigrated to the United States that year.

1928

She was hired in 1928 to work for a ceramics manufacturing company in Schramberg, Germany. She moved to Berlin, Germany in 1930 where immersed herself in the vibrant Cafe society of the Weimar Republic. She visited the Ukraine in 1932.

1925

During a summer trip to Paris, France in 1925, she visited the Exposition Internationale Des Arts Decoratifs of Industriels Modernes which debuted the term, Art Deco, with artists like Le Corbuser.
