Fen Watkin was a Canadian composer, arranger, and conductor. He was born in Toronto, Ontario, and studied at the Royal Conservatory of Music in Toronto. He was a member of the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation's music staff from 1945 to 1965, and was the musical director of the CBC's "Music Makers" program from 1952 to 1965. He also composed and arranged music for the CBC's "Music Makers" program, and for other CBC programs. Watkin was a prolific composer, writing over 500 works for orchestra, chamber ensembles, and solo instruments. He wrote several works for the CBC, including the theme music for the CBC's "Music Makers" program. He also wrote music for the National Film Board of Canada, and for the Canadian Opera Company. Watkin was a member of the Canadian Music Centre, and was awarded the Order of Canada in 1975. He died in Toronto in 1995.
