Fotis Kosmas is a Greek hurdler who was born on 26 November, 1926. He is best known for winning the gold medal in the 110 metres hurdles at the 1952 Summer Olympics in Helsinki. Kosmas was born in the village of Kastaneri in the municipality of Argos, Greece. He began his athletic career in the early 1940s, competing in the 110 metres hurdles and the 400 metres hurdles. He won the Greek national championships in the 110 metres hurdles in 1951 and 1952. Kosmas competed in the 1952 Summer Olympics in Helsinki, Finland. He won the gold medal in the 110 metres hurdles, setting a new Olympic record of 14.4 seconds. He also competed in the 400 metres hurdles, but did not reach the final. Kosmas retired from athletics in 1954. He later worked as a coach and a physical education teacher. He was inducted into the Greek Athletics Hall of Fame in 2004. Kosmas is 69 years old.
