Frank Austin was an American actor and singer who had a long career in vaudeville, film, and television. He was born in Mound City, Missouri, on October 9, 1877. Austin began his career in vaudeville in the early 1900s, performing in various acts and shows. He eventually moved to Hollywood, where he appeared in over 100 films between 1915 and 1951. His most notable roles were in the films The Big Broadcast of 1938 (1938), The Great Dictator (1940), and The Miracle of Morgan's Creek (1944). Austin also appeared in several television shows, including The Adventures of Ozzie and Harriet (1952-1954), The Red Skelton Show (1951-1953), and The Abbott and Costello Show (1952-1953). In addition to his acting career, Austin was also a singer and songwriter. He wrote and performed the song "I'm Just Wild About Harry," which was featured in the film The Big Broadcast of 1938. Frank Austin passed away on April 15, 1954, in Los Angeles, California. He was 76 years old.
