Frank Oz is an English-born American actor, puppeteer, director, and producer. He is best known for his work as a puppeteer, performing the characters of Miss Piggy, Fozzie Bear, Animal, and Grover in The Muppet Show, and as the voice of Yoda in the Star Wars films. Oz was born in Hereford, England, to puppeteers Frances and Isidore Oznowicz. He began his career as a puppeteer at the age of 12, performing with his parents' puppet company. He moved to the United States in 1963, where he worked as a puppeteer on Sesame Street and The Muppet Show. Oz has directed and produced numerous films, including Little Shop of Horrors (1986), Dirty Rotten Scoundrels (1988), What About Bob? (1991), and Bowfinger (1999). He has also directed episodes of television series, including The Muppet Show, Dinosaurs, and Oz. Oz has been married twice and has four children. He currently resides in Los Angeles, California.
