František Šedivý is a Czechoslovakian fighter who was born on 2 July, 1927 in Zadní Třebaň, First Czechoslovak Republic. He is best known for his service in the Czechoslovak Air Force during World War II. Šedivý joined the Czechoslovak Air Force in 1945 and served as a fighter pilot during the war. He flew a total of 545 combat missions and was credited with shooting down 11 enemy aircraft. After the war, he continued to serve in the Czechoslovak Air Force until his retirement in 1975. Šedivý was awarded numerous medals for his service, including the Czechoslovak War Cross, the Czechoslovak Medal of Merit, and the Czechoslovak Medal of Honor. He was also awarded the Order of the White Lion, the highest honor in the Czech Republic. Šedivý is now 94 years old and is still active in the Czech Republic. He is a member of the Czechoslovak Air Force Veterans Association and is a frequent speaker at events honoring the Czechoslovak Air Force.
