George Reid was an Australian actor who was active in the entertainment industry from the 1930s to the 1960s. He was born on 22 July 1903 in Hawthorn, Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. He was best known for his roles in the films The Overlanders (1946), The Phantom Stockman (1953), and The Sundowners (1960). Reid began his career in the 1930s, appearing in a number of stage productions. He made his film debut in the 1940s, appearing in the films The Overlanders and The Phantom Stockman. He went on to appear in a number of other films, including The Sundowners, The Shiralee, and The Siege of Pinchgut. Reid was married to actress and singer, Joy Nichols, from 1945 until his death in 1967. He died on 28 August 1967 in Sydney, Australia. At the time of his death, Reid had an estimated net worth of $1 million.
