George Skene is a Canadian modern pentathlete who was born on 5 March, 1955 in Canada. He is 65 years old. Skene began his career in modern pentathlon in 1975 and competed in the 1976 Summer Olympics in Montreal. He won a bronze medal in the team event at the 1979 Pan American Games in San Juan, Puerto Rico. He also competed in the 1980 Summer Olympics in Moscow. Skene has won numerous medals in international competitions, including gold medals at the World Cup in 1979 and 1981, and a silver medal at the World Championships in 1982. He was inducted into the Canadian Olympic Hall of Fame in 1984. Skene is married and has two children. He currently resides in Ottawa, Ontario. He is a member of the Canadian Modern Pentathlon Association and is a coach and mentor to young athletes.
