Gianfranco Parolini is an Italian writer, director, and actor. He is best known for his work in the Spaghetti Western genre, particularly the films starring Sabata and Sartana. He was born on 20 February 1925 in Rome, Lazio, Italy. Parolini began his career as a writer and director in the 1950s, working on a number of films in the Italian comedy and adventure genres. He made his directorial debut in 1961 with the film "The Magnificent Adventurer". He then went on to direct a number of Spaghetti Westerns, including "Sabata" (1969), "Adios Sabata" (1970), and "Sartana in the Valley of Death" (1970). Parolini also wrote and directed a number of other films, including the crime drama "The Big Racket" (1976) and the action-comedy "The Master Touch" (1972). He also wrote and directed the television series "The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes" (1984-1985). Parolini has been married twice, first to actress Marilù Tolo and then to actress and singer Loredana Nusciak. He has two children, a son and a daughter.
