She has unfortunately suffered with Systemic Lupus since 1995 which can be a very painful and sometimes fatal auto-immune disease. Her father, James Garner, offered to become a spokesperson and advocate for Systemic Lupus awareness and even shot a free PSA where he refers to her serious struggle with the illness. This PSA was his gift to her for her birthday the year she had been hospitalized for the disease twelve times.
Garner was chosen by the Hollywood Foreign Press to be "Miss Golden Globe" 1988.
She has been a "charted" recording artist in Europe, was a hostess on a 'Thames Television' TV show in 1983 and 1984, and has also appeared on various other TV shows in the United States, United Kingdom, and Germany. She has also been a "real" licensed private investigator in the state of Tennessee, a print model, a commercial spokesperson, written three #1 songs, authored two books, "The Cop Cookbook" and "Girl Talk," and even making handcrafted jewelry for many major TV shows and celebrities. In support of actors and in honor of her father's profession, she runs her own successful talent management business, Gigi Garner Management. She has been able to place her actors on a great many top rated TV shows in "Guest Starring", "Recurring" and even series regular roles.
