He shares writing credit on the feature screenplays 'Police State,' 'Grave Misgivings,' and 'Hit Me,' and has been a script doctor, visual effects supervisor, editor and consultant on numerous other major studio and indie feature films.

1988

Glenn Richard Cote earned his Bachelor of Arts degree from the USC School of Cinema-Television, where he studied under such noted golden-era Hollywood directors as Edward Dmytryk, Richard Brooks, and Franklin J. Schaffner. During his undergraduate studies, Cote received numerous honors -- including a coveted Jack Nicholson directing scholarship and a FOCUS Award for excellence in cinematography for the short film, 'Three Piece'. He apprenticed at ILM in the summer of 1988, and after matriculating in 1990 with a Master of Fine Arts degree, Cote was soon hired as an executive assistant to the post-production supervisor at Warner Bros.

1985

While he was a student at the University of Southern California, Glenn Côté secretly attended a recruited-audience screening of Terry Gilliam's then-unreleased Brazil (1985), and afterward invited Gilliam to screen his landmark film at USC's cinema school. Months later, when it seemed Gilliam's own "American cut" would not be released by Universal Pictures, Gilliam accepted Côté's invitation. It became the first salvo in Gilliam's celebrated public battle with the Hollywood studio system -- documented by Jack Mathews in the book "THE BATTLE OF BRAZIL".
