Gregg Karukas is an American jazz keyboardist, composer, and producer. He has released over a dozen albums as a leader, and has worked with a variety of artists, including George Benson, Al Jarreau, and Kenny Loggins. Karukas was born in Baltimore, Maryland, and began playing piano at the age of five. He attended the University of Miami, where he studied jazz and classical music. After graduating, he moved to Los Angeles and began working as a session musician. Karukas has released twelve albums as a leader, including Nightshift (1991), Blue Touch (1995), and Wavetones (2005). He has also produced albums for other artists, including Kenny Loggins' Leap of Faith (1991) and Al Jarreau's Tomorrow Today (2000). Karukas has won two Grammy Awards, for Best Pop Instrumental Performance in 1992 and Best Contemporary Jazz Album in 2005. He has also been nominated for several other awards, including the NAACP Image Award and the Soul Train Music Award. As of 2021, Gregg Karukas's net worth is estimated to be roughly $2 million.

He produced, arranged, engineered, and co-wrote two albums with Omar Akram, whose Echoes of Love won the Grammy Award for Best New Age Album in 2013.

Karukas spent five years with Tim Eyermann in the band East Coast Offering. After moving to Los Angeles, he worked with David Benoit, Richard Elliot, Grant Geissman, Dave Koz, Ronnie Laws, and Melissa Manchester. He was a member of the Rippingtons when they recorded their first album, Moonlighting (1987). He has worked as a sideman with Craig Chaquico, Boney James, and Peter White.

He experimented with drums, guitar, trumpet, and keyboards as a child, but it was not until his teens that he pursued music professionally as a pianist, having played with the Bowie High School Starliners big band. When he was sixteen, he owned one of the first Minimoog synthesizers.
