Grenville Nott was an English art director and location manager who worked in the film industry for over 40 years. He was born on 22 September 1915 in Hammersmith, London, England, UK. Grenville Nott began his career in the film industry in the late 1940s, working as an art director on films such as The Man in the White Suit (1951) and The Cruel Sea (1953). He went on to work on a number of other films, including The Guns of Navarone (1961), The Spy Who Came in from the Cold (1965), and The Ipcress File (1965). In the 1970s, Grenville Nott moved into location management, working on films such as The Omen (1976), Superman (1978), and The Empire Strikes Back (1980). He also worked on the television series The Professionals (1977-1983). Grenville Nott retired in the late 1980s, but continued to work as a consultant on films such as The Mummy (1999) and Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone (2001). Grenville Nott passed away on 28 April 2008 at the age of 92.
