He then moved to Panionios in 1979, where he played for four seasons. In 1983, he joined Ethnikos Piraeus, where he played for two seasons before retiring in 1985. Throughout his career, Charalambidis earned several caps for the Greek national team, making his debut in 1980. He was part of the squad that won the 1980 Balkan Cup.
