H. A. G. de Silva was a Sri Lankan politician and diplomat who served as the Minister of Foreign Affairs from 1977 to 1978. He was born in Colombo, Sri Lanka, on 15 October 1925. He was educated at Royal College, Colombo, and the University of Ceylon. He began his political career in 1952, when he was elected to the House of Representatives. He served as the Minister of Education from 1956 to 1959, and as the Minister of Finance from 1959 to 1965. He was appointed as the Sri Lankan Ambassador to the United States in 1965, and served in that capacity until 1970. He returned to Sri Lanka in 1970 and was elected to the Senate in 1971. He served as the Minister of Foreign Affairs from 1977 to 1978. He was also the leader of the United National Party from 1977 to 1978. He died on 28 April 2021, at the age of 95.
