Håkon Olsen is a Norwegian wrestler who was born on 22 March, 1927 in Notodden, Norway. He is best known for his accomplishments in Greco-Roman wrestling, having won a bronze medal at the 1952 Summer Olympics in Helsinki, Finland. He also won a silver medal at the 1954 European Championships in Vienna, Austria. Olsen began his wrestling career in 1948, and competed in the 1952 Summer Olympics in Helsinki, Finland. He won a bronze medal in the Greco-Roman wrestling event, and was the first Norwegian wrestler to win an Olympic medal. He also won a silver medal at the 1954 European Championships in Vienna, Austria. Olsen retired from competitive wrestling in 1956, and went on to become a wrestling coach. He coached the Norwegian national team from 1965 to 1972, and was the head coach of the Norwegian team at the 1972 Summer Olympics in Munich, Germany. Olsen was inducted into the Norwegian Wrestling Hall of Fame in 2002. He is currently 85 years old.
