Harvey Atkin is a Canadian actor and comedian. He is best known for his role as Sgt. Ronald Coleman in the Police Academy films. He has also appeared in numerous television shows, including Cagney & Lacey, Law & Order, and The King of Queens. Atkin was born in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. He attended the University of Toronto and graduated with a degree in English and Drama. He began his career in the theater, appearing in productions of The Fantasticks, The Odd Couple, and The Sunshine Boys. Atkin made his film debut in the 1976 comedy The Gumball Rally. He went on to appear in the Police Academy films, playing Sgt. Ronald Coleman in the first four installments. He also appeared in the films The In-Laws, The Last Dragon, and The Long Kiss Goodnight. Atkin has appeared in numerous television shows, including Cagney & Lacey, Law & Order, and The King of Queens. He has also provided voices for animated series such as The Real Ghostbusters, The Simpsons, and The Critic. Atkin has been married to his wife, actress and singer, Susan Atkin, since 1967.
