Heather Rabbatts is a British businesswoman, broadcaster, and former civil servant. She was born on 6 December 1955 in Kingston, Jamaica. She is the daughter of a Jamaican father and a British mother.
Rabbatts was educated at the University of Sussex, where she studied law and politics. She then went on to become a civil servant, working in the Home Office and the Department of Health.
In 2000, Rabbatts became the first black woman to be appointed to the board of the Football Association. She was also the first woman to be appointed to the board of the Premier League.
Rabbatts has held a number of senior positions in the public and private sectors, including as a non-executive director of the BBC, a trustee of the Tate Gallery, and a member of the London Organising Committee for the Olympic Games.
Rabbatts is currently the Chair of the London Legacy Development Corporation, which is responsible for the regeneration of the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park. She is also a trustee of the National Theatre and a member of the board of the British Council.
Rabbatts has been awarded an OBE for her services to broadcasting and sport. She is married to the journalist and broadcaster, David Aaronovitch, and they have two children.

On 1 June 2015, she resigned from FIFA's anti-discrimination taskforce following Sepp Blatter's re-election as president.
In April 2014, she was a judge in the BBC Woman's Hour power list 2014.
In February 2013, she was assessed as one of the 100 most powerful women in the United Kingdom by Woman's Hour on BBC Radio 4.
In October 2013, she criticised the make-up of the Football Association's commission to improve the national team as being "all-white, all-male"; Rio Ferdinand was subsequently added to the commission.
On 22 December 2011, Rabbatts became the first woman to be appointed as a director of The Football Association.
