Hirotaro Higuchi is a Japanese business executive who has served as the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Mitsubishi Corporation since April 2017. He was born on 25 January 1926 in Tokyo, Japan. Higuchi graduated from the University of Tokyo in 1949 with a degree in economics. He joined Mitsubishi Corporation in 1950 and has held various positions within the company, including President and Chief Executive Officer from April 1997 to March 2003. He has also served as a director of the Japan Business Federation, the Japan-U.S. Business Council, and the Japan-China Economic Association. He is a member of the Trilateral Commission and the International Advisory Council of the China Development Bank. Higuchi is a recipient of the Order of the Rising Sun, Gold Rays with Neck Ribbon, and the Order of the Sacred Treasure, Gold and Silver Star. He has also been awarded honorary doctorates from the University of Tokyo and the University of Tsukuba. As of 2021, Hirotaro Higuchi's net worth is estimated to be roughly $1 billion.
