Horace Tuitt is a Trinidadian politician and former Member of Parliament. He was born in San Fernando, Trinidad and Tobago, and attended the University of the West Indies, St. Augustine, where he obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics. He was first elected to the House of Representatives in 1986, and served as Minister of Finance from 1991 to 1995. Tuitt has served as a Member of Parliament for the San Fernando East constituency since 1986. He was appointed Minister of Finance in 1991, and served in that capacity until 1995. He was also appointed Minister of Trade and Industry in 1995, and served in that capacity until 2001. Tuitt is a member of the People's National Movement (PNM), and is currently the party's Deputy Political Leader. He is also the Chairman of the PNM's San Fernando East Constituency Council.
