Huub Rothengatter is a Dutch racing driver who was born on 8 October 1954 in Bussum, Netherlands. He is best known for his success in touring car racing, having won the Dutch Touring Car Championship in 1985 and 1986. He also competed in Formula One, making his debut in the 1983 Dutch Grand Prix. Rothengatter began his racing career in karting in the early 1970s, before moving up to Formula Ford in 1976. He won the Dutch Formula Ford Championship in 1977 and 1978, before moving up to Formula 3 in 1979. He won the Dutch Formula 3 Championship in 1980 and 1981, before making his Formula One debut in 1983. Rothengatter competed in Formula One for the next three seasons, driving for the RAM and Spirit teams. He scored points on two occasions, finishing sixth in the 1984 San Marino Grand Prix and fifth in the 1985 Belgian Grand Prix. He left Formula One at the end of the 1985 season, and returned to touring car racing. Rothengatter won the Dutch Touring Car Championship in 1985 and 1986, and also competed in the German Touring Car Championship and the British Touring Car Championship. He retired from racing in 1997, and now works as a driver coach and commentator. He is also a member of the FIA Drivers' Commission.
